Creating a Movie Sequel Using the Eight-Point Story Arc

The objective of this lesson is for students to create a movie proposal for a film executive by using the eight-point story arc.

Lesson Plan

Students should watch the provided clips of popular movies that do not have sequels. They should be told to imagine that Harvey Weinstein, the co-founder of Miramax Films, has approached them to create a sequel to their favorite movie. Mr. Weinstein has also asked the students to create an eight-point story arc for the proposed sequel, which should include the following:
