Evolution: The Greatest Show on Earth

Students watch and discuss a techno music video while learning key concepts of evolution.

Lesson Plan

The music video can be shown at the beginning of class as it presents many concepts that can later be expanded on. Show the music video once, allowing the students to watch it uninterrupted. Afterwards, the teacher can facilitate a discussion with students about what they observed or learned during the first viewing. The video can then be played a second time with the instructor pausing at times to clarify or explain points presented. The following concepts are presented (in order) in the video and can be expanded on to enrich students' understanding of evolution:
