Hip-Hop Vocabulary Development

The goal of this lesson is for students to develop their vocabulary by identifying words they do not know in Hip-Hop songs, finding the words’ definitions, and demonstrating their understanding of the words by writing their own rap verses that incorporate the new vocabulary.

Lesson Plan

There are a few different ways to approach this lesson. The first approach is for students to identify Hip-Hop songs that they believe display strong vocabulary, find the definitions of the words they do not know, and demonstrate their understanding of the words by writing their own rap verses that incorporate the new vocabulary.

Steve Netcoh Steven Netcoh is the Chief Content Officer for NuSkool responsible for the vetting and review of lesson plans submitted by the cohort of educators currently contributing content to the NuSkool platform.
