Start by explaining that almost every popular song is an expression of emotion. Sometimes songs are happy, and other times they are sad. Sometimes they are about love, and other times they are about heartbreak. Sometimes songs express anger while other times they are about going to the club and having a good time. While music is often a poetic way to abstractly express feelings, there is in fact hard science behind all of these emotions.
